Two pieces of wood found on the beach at different times are placed side by side by the artist. While one has kept its original shape and is easily recognizable as an ice-cream stick, the other, long, narrow and with rounded corners, is hypothetically reminiscent of the plank of a boat that broke loose and remained adrift for a while, eroding, until it returned to the shore. When the artist noticed a formal affinity between the two pieces of wood, what was his surprise when, upon measuring them, he discovered that the objects were proportional to each other on a scale of 1 to 10.
